We Love Edmonton owner, Jenna Hill with Frock Box
INTRODUCING JENNA FROM FROCK BOX
Tell us about you as a business owner ?
I’ve always felt that entrepreneurial spark, starting quite a few small businesses along my journey. I think some of my colleagues and friends would probably describe me as disciplined and very dedicated to my work as a business owner, and some may also say I am stubborn. But to me, it’s all about my willingness to work really hard and beat the odds as a business owner, and to find that “big success.”
I love thinking outside the box, being creative, being a dreamer and taking risks. I also love to learn and soak up whatever I can through books, podcasts, attending conferences of other inspiring women and connecting with my community.
Were you always creative ?
I think I have always been creative….I would say that’s certainly a big piece of who I am as a person and the area I am most drawn to. Before Frock Box, I spent a lot of time in marketing, graphic design and also still run a photography business. These skills have been so beneficial while building Frock Box. We are primarily an online business so finding ways to stand out are critical.
Who was your influence?
I’d have to say that I am motivated most while in the company of other dreamers, entrepreneurs and creative people. They challenge and inspire me and ultimately make me want to do more. I also have a background in music and that type of creativity has certainly influenced who I am today.
What inspired you to start your business?
Women of all walks of life! Moms, stay at home moms, working moms, women who don’t have access to shopping in their towns.
When did you first launch?
We launched Frock Box in August of 2015. It originally started in my basement and in November of 2017, we officially outgrew the space and moved into our warehouse in Riel. We started with just a few employees and now have more than 18 staff members!
What's do you love to hear about Frock Box?
I love hearing positive feedback from our subscribers. There’s nothing more meaningful than hearing someone’s story about how the clothing we sent them made them feel. We are empowering women to look and feel their best, and really, that’s what it’s all about.
I am more than a business owner, but also a mom to two girls (Holland and Emersyn) and have a pretty awesome husband named Josh. We both grew up in Alberta and now call St. Albert our home.
Do you prefer dogs or cats? Dogs!
Beverage of choice, coffee, tea or a latte? CHAI TEA LATTE
