DIY - Create a Festive Felt Garland

Here’s an easy DIY to decorate your home and a fun one for the kids to make as well.

While I could have easily purchased a felt garland from the local big box store, I love to create my own decorations for our home during the holidays. In the busyness of the season, pulling out the crafts with the kids, causes me to slow down and enjoy the moment!
For this craft, I purchased my supplies from the dollar and more store.

Felt Square Pack $3.00
Beads $1.25
At home I used Nylon Fishing Line I had from previous and a set of buttons found in my sewing box for the ends.

Project itself took about 3 hours with cutting squares, assembly, while sipping away at tea and listening to Christmas music.

With my pinking shears, I cut the felt into small squares, then laid out my pattern colour intermixing them with the beads I had purchased. This made the project go a little faster when it came time for assembly.

Stringing together I started with one of the blue buttons, as an end holder for the garland, every three squares I’d add a wood bead, breaking up the pattern. Total length was about 5 feet 3 Inches, just a little bit shorter then me!

Assembly time was about three hours.
